當年正值十五歲，一個青澀懵懂的年少歲月，卻因聯考而被壓的喘不過氣來，而排解心中鬱悶心情的就是排球和音樂。在學校，大部分時間是緊繃無聊的，面對上不完的課考不完的試，但是每當課後一有空閒時間，總是和三兩同學們約好到球場打排球，甚至跟隔壁班同學一起切磋球技，不管打的好壞如何，但是那種和大家一起叫著笑著，揮著汗水開心打球的心情，是難以形容的，而和好友們打球的歡笑情景，在苦澀的國中歲月留下一段難以忘懷的記憶。
音樂則是回家後的精神糧食，老實說我唸書時，一向是要聽音樂的，如果切掉音樂反而就沒辦法專心了。因為國中同學的關係，讓我有機會認識許多相當棒的西洋歌手，也聽了許多經典又好聽的西洋音樂。在國二的某天深夜，睡不著覺的我開著CD隨身聽，耳邊隨即傳來高昂的男聲及群眾的歡呼聲，這一首演唱會上錄製而成的經點歌曲「Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me」，令我驚豔不已，因此，我才認識了Elton John和George Michael兩位才華洋溢的英國歌手。總是在半夜時聽這首歌，最有感覺，有些悲傷、抒發的激昂唱腔，能夠撫慰稍有不適的心情，兩位才子的合作，更豐富了整首歌曲的音樂表現。我永遠忘不了那晚，如獲甘霖般地喜悅，耳邊反覆聽著「Don't let the sun go down on me, yeah. Although I search myself...」他，啟蒙了我對音樂的喜愛與熱情。
